Structural Hillslope Connectivity Is Driven by Tectonics More Than Climate and Modulates Hydrologic Extremes and Benefits

چکیده
Structural hydrologic connections, formed by the coaction of tectonic and climatic processes, facilitate transfer matter across Earth's surface. Large-scale analysis hillslope connectivity controls is lacking, thus limiting our understanding drivers extremes, like floods landslides, benefits, wetlands. Here, we model using Index Connectivity, at 10-m resolution for contiguous United States. We show dominance drivers, river steepness (ρ = 0.84) seismic activity 0.48), over precipitation −0.31) aridity −0.07), in controlling strength connectivity. Highly connected basins were associated with landslide occurrence 0.69) while poorly had greater wetland density −0.50). Lastly, share results an open access data portal land managers to leverage structural maps their respective study domains.

PI3K and mTOR inhibitor, NVP-BEZ235, is more toxic than X-rays in prostate cancer cells
Background: Radiotherapy and adjuvant androgen deprivation therapy have historically been the first treatment choices for prostate cancer but treatment resistance often limits the capacity to effectively manage the disease. Therefore, alternative therapeutic approaches are needed. Here, the efficacies of radiotherapy and targeting the pro-survival cell signaling components epidermal growth fact...
متن کاملp63 is more sensitive and specific than 34βE12 to differentiate adenocarcinoma of prostate from cancer mimickers
Objective(s): Prostate cancer is the world’s leading cause of cancer and the second cause of cancer-related death in men after lung cancer. Differentiation of prostate adenocarcinoma from benign prostate lesions and hyperplasia sometimes cannot be done on the basis of morphologic findings. Considering the fact that in the prostate adenocarcinoma there is no basal cell layer, basal cell markers ...
متن کاملAn approach to understanding hydrologic connectivity on the hillslope and the implications for nutrient transport
[1] Hydrologic processes control much of the export of organic matter and nutrients from the land surface. It is the variability of these hydrologic processes that produces variable patterns of nutrient transport in both space and time. In this paper, we explore how hydrologic ‘‘connectivity’’ potentially affects nutrient transport. Hydrologic connectivity is defined as the condition by which d...
متن کاملBenefits of fading in perceptual learning are driven by more than dimensional attention
Individuals learn to classify percepts effectively when the task is initially easy and then gradually increases in difficulty. Some suggest that this is because easy-to-discriminate events help learners focus attention on discrimination-relevant dimensions. Here, we tested whether such attentional-spotlighting accounts are sufficient to explain easy-to-hard effects in auditory perceptual learni...
